The Hector Refugee Project began in 2023 with one woman's dream to welcome and resettle a Ukrainian refugee family in the community of Hector. There are millions of refugees around the world, forced from their homes by war, persecution, and natural disasters. The enormity of the problem is too much for any one country, organization, or community to solve; but that doesn't mean we can't help. We can help, together!
The Hector Refugee Project is made up entirely of community volunteers. We are a diverse group of like-minded people, devoting our time, skills, and passion to this important task. We help because compassion has no borders. We help because we remember that our families were all refugees or immigrants at one time or another.
How can you help the Hector Refugee Project?

We can’t help anyone until we have prepared a place for them to stay, and
laid the groundwork to help them build a new life here, free from the horrors of war. Part of that preparation involves raising money, of course, but just as importantly we need people to join our planning committees:

Housing and Transportation
Education
Employment and Family Finance
Fundraising and Outreach
No matter your availability or skill level, there is a place for you!
